BA Graphic & Digital Design

Gray Good

Hi! I’m Gray, a graphic designer with a background in interior and spatial design. My work focuses on overlooked concepts through storytelling. Gravitating towards neglected themes, I specialise in visualising personal feelings through both print and digital outcomes.

The Scents of Home

What is home? Most people refer to home as the place they reside, but could it be a person? A memory? A feeling? A smell? Considering home as a personal concept, can we really restrict it to a place?

Home is where you feel safe.

Individually, we have different ideas of home. As someone who has moved many times, home has become less a structure and more a feeling of comfort, safety, and love. The Scents of Home is a deeply personal piece that engages the viewer to consider their own idea of home. Not only is it engaging, but it also considers potential therapeutic benefits. What if in times of anxiety, stress, or overwhelm, you could smell a fragrance that reminds you of home? A memory that is warm, safe, and kind.

Design

The BA Graphic and Digital Design programme is rooted in experimentation across digital and analogue media, deep collaboration and a focused engagement with visual and material culture. We are a community of visual thinkers and makers, passionate about typography and language, narrative and storytelling, motion graphics and moving image, art direction, photography and image making. We understand design as broad and complex, multi-layered and detailed, crafted and accidental. Combining professional practice and creative research with technical skills, our programme develops curious students into designers of the future.
