BA Graphic & Digital Design

Bohdan Kucherenko

Hi, I’m Bohdan — a graphic designer from Kyiv, based in London. I work across editorial, branding, motion, and digital design. My practice is concept-driven: I’m drawn to work that carries meaning beyond aesthetics, where design can hold something that might otherwise disappear.

The Missing Roll

The Missing Roll is a publication and wall installation exploring memory, absence, and photographs that were lost, never taken, or can no longer be recovered. Structured as a 36-frame film roll, the project moves through four sections: Before, The Break, What I Carry, and Missing.

The work combines photography, editorial design, typography, and spatial installation. Empty frames, fragmented images, questions, and a physical book form an incomplete archive, asking what remains when visual evidence disappears. The project reflects on displacement, personal memory, and the limits of photography, using restraint and silence rather than direct documentation.

Design

The BA Graphic and Digital Design programme is rooted in experimentation across digital and analogue media, deep collaboration and a focused engagement with visual and material culture. We are a community of visual thinkers and makers, passionate about typography and language, narrative and storytelling, motion graphics and moving image, art direction, photography and image making. We understand design as broad and complex, multi-layered and detailed, crafted and accidental. Combining professional practice and creative research with technical skills, our programme develops curious students into designers of the future.
