Hiya! I’m Zuko, an aspiring storyboard artist and character
designer with a passion for storytelling and creating

that will leave a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.
Set in the near future that is neither fantasy or farfetched, this project tells the story of 00 and 02, a pair of twin robots living in a society where artificial intelligence has become the ultimate instrument of governmental power. Designed to serve without question, robots function as obedient labourers, stripped of memory, emotion and individuality.
When 00 begins to experience a malfunction that reawakens fragments of a suppressed human past, he is forced to confront the reality of the world and the cost of unquestioned obedience. Though set within a fictional dystopia, Fragments of Tomorrow operates as a visual response to real-world concerns surrounding authority and the manipulation of identity in an era of technological dependency, portraying the journey of conscious awakening from obedient servant to rebellious figure.
We are presented with a world of desaturated greys, quiet and mechanical – the perfect picture of an a utopia run by robots who work under the invisible presence of the government figure. This world seems like a utopia of no violence or disorder, everyone working obediently until one robot malfunctions and crashes into the protagonist – 00. 00’s control mechanism is cracked, and we see the world begin to glitch as his subconscious awakens to the reality of the world and what had been taken from him and the other orders by those in power to have full control. The story follows him as he goes to be repaired after the incident, but instead, strays to a forbidden area and awakens his human past – one where he was taken in as a child along with his identical sister and brother, all of whom were experimented on and turned into machines. He remembers them, how his brother died under the experiments and how his sister 02 is out there. Now with the knowledge, he plans to rebel by first escaping and reuniting with his sister. What he doesn’t expect is for her not to wish to leave the control of the government, despite knowing their past…
