Hi. I’m Andy. A Music and Sound design student interested in electronic sound art, music for film and Pop tunes.
I am a composer, vocalist and sound designer with interests in music technology, soundtrack composition, vinyl culture and experimental audio practice. My work draws on a wide range of sources, from field recordings and electronic manipulation to orchestral textures and the human voice. I am interested in the full dynamic spectrum of sound, from aggressive and densely layered sonic environments to quiet gestures and subtle details. I find inspiration in the natural world, the discipline and physicality of martial arts, and listening to the stories and experiences of others.
My main project investigates hidden vibrational communication in nature through the use of laser Doppler vibrometry. Inspired by the substrate-borne signals of treehoppers, I collaborated with industry specialists to capture microscopic vibrations beyond the range of human hearing. Through fieldwork, experimentation and sound transformation, the project explores how recording technologies can function not only as tools of measurement but as active participants in creative inquiry.
