Male Fantasies: The Impact of Extreme Cinema on Women’s Health

Male Fantasies: The Impact of Extreme Cinema on Women’s Health explores how extreme cinema affects female audiences through creative exercises and interviews. The project revolves around three studies. Study #1 involves Isobel Moore, who watched extreme cinema as a teenager. I interviewed her and conducted visual art exercises that reflect her emotional response. Study #2 features Maddie Younger, who had no prior experience with extreme cinema. I showed her a compilation, interviewed her, and a week later, conducted a creative exercise to capture her response. Study #3, I examined my own feelings towards the genre. I revisited extreme cinema after a long period of avoidance, and expressed my responses through photography. This project highlights the potentially harmful impact of media.
