Inspired by my grandmother, Eileen, this project explores our shared experience of living with psoriasis. After my diagnosis, I recognised many of her habits in myself, including frequent cleaning, changing bedsheets, and covering our skin to conceal visible symptoms. Although she passed away before my diagnosis, these parallels helped me connect with her in a new way. What began as a personal exploration evolved into an examination of the stigma surrounding psoriasis and its impact on self image and behaviour. This artist book offers a space for understanding, connection, and recognition of the resilience required to live with the condition.
Our Media and Communications degree provides an academic, creative and critical understanding of the media for roles in a variety of creative industries and backgrounds. By the end of our Media and Communications degree, you’ll know how to produce creative content across different kinds of media, including writing, camera use, sound recording and post-production/editing. The course supports students in developing a broad portfolio of independent critical and creative outputs, and to explore how their own practice relates to the real-world media and creative industries.
