MA Digital Arts

Mafalda Russo dos Santos

Mafalda Russo dos Santos is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans fine art and digital forms. Guided by intuition and metaphysical inquiry, her work seeks to investigate unseen forces that shape and govern our identities and social structures, an invitation to reflect on the tension between inner perception and collective existence.

from here to here

This year on the MA Digital Arts course has marked a return a for me, to art, to creation, to myself. It has been both turbulent and transformative, a personal archaeology in which this meeting of my own practice has unearthed elements of my own being. I’ve discovered that art is, and has been, a form of therapy. Both a mirror and a map, allowing me to scrutinise, dissect, and digest not only the work but also the self that made it. This course has opened the door for the freedom and the vulnerability of being given the space to create, to discover, and to fail. A freedom that can only ever be self-given.
