Ron, a skater with a guilty conscience, finds an acquaintance named Kel seemingly unhappy in a park. In trying to help Kel see positives in his self-declared autism, he remembers his experience with Mamadou, an autistic friend with emotional baggage.
We aim to raise awareness on an autistic experience by placing Ron as the viewer’s entry into this story. This storyline opens eyes to the important topics of autism and neurodivergence as it is a topic that has not been talked about much but just stereotyped.
Though most of the film’s key plot consists of flashbacks, the non-linear structure serves its function as a summary of the events from Ron’s POV. Even the office scene, which Ron was not present for, can be interpreted as “Mamadou telling Ron what happened”.
