Hi I’m Niya! I am a Web Designer and Developer with a strong interest in accessible and inclusive design.
For my final project, I decided to create a website about my culture. I focused on an old historical type of Bulgarian embroidery, explaining its meaning and symbolism and showing tutorial templates that can be followed to recreate the embroideries. To create this website, I began by developing user personas, empathy maps, and storyboards, which helped me refine my idea and determine the type of content I needed to include. I also created a static prototype of the website early on in the process to narrow down the functionalities for the final website. Creating this website was a great experience, and I learned a lot about different aspects of web design and development. This whole process has provided me with the necessary knowledge to start my career in web, and I am proud to have created this project representing a part of my culture.
